Cheryl Ann Peterson (née Holmgren) of Lakeville, passed away on April 11, 2026, following a lifelong battle with asthma and the effects of multiple strokes. Cheryl was 79 years old and was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Craig Leroy Peterson, and her parents, Rudy and Ruth Holmgren.

She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Holly; her brother, Roger Holmgren (Ricka); and her sister, Kris Sexton (Steve Tollefsrud). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Cheryl dedicated much of her life to her work at Wells Fargo (formerly Northwestern National Bank), spending most of her career in the Trust Department. Her commitment to her clients was unwavering-she continued her trust work with some clients up untit-her passing. Cheryl also served for many years as a Guardian for the adult daughter of a Wells Fargo executive, providing support and care with great compassion.

Cheryl LOVED the color red - and anything to do with strawberries! Her home and life were filled with both!

Cheryl cherished her friendships deeply and was an active member of a close-knit group of women who affectionately called themselves "Sorority Sisters." Together, they shared countless lunches, movie outings, celebrations, and life's everyday moments-always supporting and caring for one another as only true friends do.

Cheryl had a warm heart and gentle ease about her. She loved gardening, sewing, making and sending greeting cards, family gatherings, and she never missed a chance to talk about her family or her daughter. Her warmth, dedication, and kindness touched many lives. She will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A gathering to celebrate Cheryl will be held Friday, May 1, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 PM at the Edina Chapel of The Cremation Society, 7110 France Ave South, Edina, MN 55435 - 952-924-4100.
