Glenda Christeen Petersen, age 82, of Lakeville, passed away peacefully at home on March 30, 2026. She had been a resident of Lakeville for 53 years.

Glenda was born on May 20, 1943, in Fort Leonard Wood, MO, the loving daughter of Glen Cole Seamster and Mildred Christeen Seamster (Crouch).

She graduated from high school in Gravette, AR. in 1961 and moved to Minnesota in 1966. On July 7, 1973, she married Delmer Petersen, and together they shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. Glenda dedicated over 25 years of service to Peerless Plastics before retiring.

She was a long-time and devoted member of Christiania Lutheran Church.

Glenda most cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She lovingly documented her life experiences and family vacations in journals, preserving treasured memories for years to come. She had a passion for writing letters and never missed an opportunity to send cards for all occasions. She also enjoyed feeding the birds and watching the many species that gathered outside her windows. Her faith was important to her, and she found great joy in supporting and participating in church activities.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Petersen; her son, Brian Gorr; and her grandson, Nick Young.

Glenda is survived by her brother, Roy Seamster (Vickie); her children: Cherie Borck (Jim), Dan Petersen (LeAnn), Sheri Costa (Al), Phil Petersen (Anne), and Lorie Petersen (Frenchie). She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren: and sister-in-law, Sylvia Wicklacz.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, June 20, at 10:00 a.m. at Christiania Lutheran Church, followed by a service at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest at East Christiania Cemetery immediately following the service. A celebration of life will take place afterward at Webster Park in Webster, MN.
