Stephanie Ann (Ostenson) Lund Obituary

Stephanie Ann (Ostenson) Lund, age 60, passed away on April 9th, 2026, surrounded by family at home in Bloomington, Minnesota after a year long battle with lung cancer. She was born on June 2nd, 1965 to Dwayne and Beverly (Enger) Ostenson in Kenmare, North Dakota. Her sister Michelle and brother Paul completed their family in the years following. She graduated from West Fargo High School in 1983.

Stephanie was smart and independent from a young age, including in her early elementary years, walking to the local café in Fordville to have coffee with her retired friends or making a quick stop at the grocery store to pick up some snacks and “charge it”. She had the special gift to work with people with disabilities for many years, working one on one and managing group homes. The great people she worked with were part of her family’s lives, it wasn’t just a job. She later made her home and life in the Twin Cities area and continued her work as a caretaker and group home manager, and later worked at a funeral home helping people through their time of need.

On August 20th, 1995, Stephanie married Kyle Lund in a beautiful ceremony at the Como Conservatory in St. Paul and they welcomed their daughter Marley Ann Lund to their family on May 10th, 1999. Steph loved being her mom and felt it was her greatest and most important job. She was extremely proud of Marley as she excelled in school and life and would tell anyone who would listen about her accomplishments (to Marley’s embarrassment). Marley was the sparkle in her eyes and the joy in her heart.

She was quite the card shark, particularly in pinochle and cribbage, had a keen eye for interior decorating, loved live music and dancing, and was known to order a malibu orange juice on a night out. She always had a witty comment to make at the perfect moment, was a big fan of the mac and cheese at Noodles and Company, and had recently kicked her two main habits: mountain dew and lime green American Spirits. Most of all, she loved and cherished her family and friends.

Stephanie had health struggles in the last few years but always faced them with courage and strength. It would be hard to meet a tougher person than her. She was an amazing and intelligent woman whose life was full of love and caring for everyone before herself. She had a remarkable way of looking at the curveballs life gives us in a way that made them feel like a simple bump in the road. She offered her help freely and was honest in every matter, whether you wanted to hear it or not but usually needed to hear it.

Survivors left to miss her advice, hugs, and unwavering support include her daughter Marley Lund, her siblings Michelle (Mike) Perius, and Paul (Sally) Ostenson, her nieces and nephew, Macey Perius, Khauner Perius, and William Ostenson, and her former husband Kyle Lund, along with extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, Beverly and Dwayne, and her grandparents.

A celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 26th at the Cremation Society of Minnesota (7110 France Ave S Edina, MN 55435) with a gathering of family and friends beginning at 1:00pm and service starting at 2:00pm with a reception to follow.
