Marsha Corinne Sawyer Obituary

In Loving Memory of Marsha Corinne Sawyer

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marsha Corinne Sawyer on

December 25, 2025, at the age of 75, surrounded by loved ones. Born on October 13, 1950, to Ralph and Corinne (Roberts) Paskett in Duluth. She was the oldest of 7 children.

Marsha graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1968, and in 1971, she met Raleigh (Tex) Sawyer. They married on February 26, 1972, and together built a home on Fairview Rd in Duluth, raising two daughters, Jaymi and Donna. Marsha’s greatest joy was her family, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting them.

Marsha had a career in banking that spanned 20 years. Outside of work she enjoyed numerous hobbies, such as painting/drawing, making stained glass, knitting, feeding the birds, ducks, deer and other wildlife that frequented her yard, watching all her “shows”, and of course shopping on QVC and HSN.

However, it was her role as a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister that truly defined her. This was evident through her vast collection of “Grandma” sweatshirts she would proudly wear displaying all the names of her grandchildren. Talking to her sister Debbie daily, and always buying things in duplicate, so that Debbie could have the same. She also had close relationships with her sisters-in-law; Sandy, Tommi, and Bonnie. She enjoyed their annual “sister’s weekend” to the cities, and Friday night dinner outings.

Marsha’s warmth was felt in every hug, that she offered up, freely, to all that wanted or needed one (or made eye contact). She was a social butterfly, bringing joy and laughter wherever she went, and she found great happiness participating in events at Viewcrest Health Center, especially Bingo, Holiday crafts, and food activities.

She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Donna Paskett and Dianne Bednarek, and her husband Tex. Her legacy lives on through her daughters, Jaymi (Adam) Bergerson of Ft. Worth TX, and Donna Sawyer; her sister Debbie (Karl) Pettersen; her brothers, Keith (Mary) Paskett, Wayne Paskett, and Jon (Lis) Paskett of Warner-Robbins, GA, and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Zachariah, Alyssia, Mahalah, Emma, Laylah, Donovan, Zamir; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews and friends who were blessed to know her.  Marsha’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and devotion, a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Her family extends their deepest gratitude to the staff of Viewcrest Health Center for the exceptional care and companionship they provided during Marsha’s time there.

Marsha will be deeply missed, but her memory will continue to inspire and comfort those she held dear.

A visitation and services will be held on Saturday April 25th 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM at Cremation Society of Minnesota, located at 4100 Grand Ave Duluth, MN 55807. A moment of gathering in remembrance will follow the services with refreshments.
