GARTON, John "Grumpy", age 88, of Brooklyn Center, formerly of Annandale, passed away peacefully April 5, 2026.  U.S. Navy Veteran.  He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Garton Cook.

He will be missed by his children, Patti Johnson (Kevin), Cheryl Edberg (Ron); grandchildren, Nick Johnson (Tricia), Renee Johnson, CJ Johnson, Anthony Hondl, Angela Hondl, and Samantha Fahey (Brian); great grandchildren, Owen, Greta, Luke, Brenna, Madison, Charlee, Logann, Amelia, Fiona, Zoey, Ben and Harper; many relatives and good friends

Celebration of Life 2pm Sunday, April 26 at Zuhrah Shrine Center, 6120 Blue Circle Drive, Minnetonka (952-426-3023) with visitation 1 hour before service.

Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Avenue S, Minneapolis at 10am Tuesday, April 28th.  Family and friends are to gather at the assembly area by 09:45AM to be led to your committal shelter.
