Phyllis Maxine Ackley was born May 3,1950 to Columbus and Dorothy Ackley at Mercy Hospital in Valley City, North Dakota. She was welcomed at home by a sister and two brothers. Phyllis passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home March 29,2026 at M Fairview Southdale Hospital in Edina MN.

She grew up on a farm south of Luverne ND and attended school in Luverne graduating from there in May of 1968. She spent her summers helping at farm homes caring for the children and helping cook meals. She also worked at a local resort on weekends. After graduation she attended a key punch school in Fargo ND and moved to the Minneapolis area to work as an accountant in the insurance business. She really enjoyed the big city life.

Phyllis married Rodney Larson on November 19, 1977 at Epworth United Methodist Church in Valley City ND. The wedding did happen despite the uninvited guest (a snowstorm). Our mother was more than happy to have extra guests at her home overnight.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus and Dorothy Ackley, husband, Rodney Larson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Ruby Larson, sisters -in laws, Sue Ackley, Sandra Larson and Cheryl Tobkin. Phyllis leaves behind her sister, Carol (David) Jacobsen, brothers, Dennis and David Ackley, sisters-in-laws – Bonnie (Al) Poyzer, Cynthia ( Glenn) Ramsey, Renea Larson, Nephews and Nieces, Kelly (Kimberly) Jacobsen, Kristi (Randy) Olinger, Holly (Scott) Wolbaum, Nephews and Nieces-in-laws – Chris (Beth) Poyzer, Bryan (Jessica) Poyzer, Eric (Erica) Ramsey, Tiffany (Scott) Hagen, Matt (Erin) Tobkin, Tate (Anna) Tobkin, Kari (Mark) Johnston, Jennifer Thompson, Wesley (Nicole) Fangsrud and several great nephews and great nieces and one great great nephew and one great great niece and several cousins and friends.

Memorial service and Interment will be held at the Fargo National Cemetery, 8709 40th Ave N Co Rd 20, Harwood ND April 24, 2026 at 2 PM. Light lunch served after
