Lana Cathryn Foy passed away on April 2nd, 2026, in Crystal, Minnesota at the age of 81. She was born on December 22nd, 1944, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Jack and Cathryn French.

Lana went to school in Grand Forks and attended the University of North Dakota for four years before marrying her love, Larry Foy, in 1966. Together they raised four children and had eight grandchildren. They moved to California in 1969, where they lived for 10 years before moving back to the Midwest and residing in Crystal, MN. Lana worked for the phone company as a Service Representative for over thirty years before retiring in 2001.

She was a long time Catholic and member of Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in New Hope, MN. She proudly served as a St Joe’s Rep helping with funeral luncheons for many years.

She enjoyed all activities her children and grandchildren did, attending every cross country meet and track meet they competed in. She attended many basketball games, softball games and marching band events, and orchestra/band concerts that all the grandchildren played in and performed at.

She and Larry purchased a lake cabin in 1990 on Swan Lake in Pengilly, MN and enjoyed many weekends and summers together there.

She is preceded in death by her husband Larry, son Jim, her parents Jack and Cathryn, her brothers Jack, Leo and Don and sister Mary.

She is survived by children: Sarah (Dan) Kempf, Shelly (Pat) Baumgartner, Randy (Michelle) Foy; Dtr in law Cathy Muus; Grandchildren, Amy (Ryan) Zenanko, Andrew Kempf, Ally Kempf, Tanner Tuma, Tate Tuma, Jaxon Foy, Breanna Foy, Meghan Foy and Great Granddaughter Hailey Zenanko. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 14th, 2026, at 11am at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 8701 – 36th Avenue North, New Hope, MN. Visitation one hour prior to service.

Arrangements under direction of the Cremation Society of Minnesota.
