Sheila Jane Stoltenberg (Carsrud)

Sheila "Shell" passed away on March 30, 2026, at the age of 89. She was born on September 15, 1936, in Dell Rapids, SD to Edgar and Bernice Carsrud. She grew up on a farm near Colton, SD with 9 siblings and graduated from Lyons High School. Shell married Daniel Stoltenberg in June 1960. They raised their two children in Excelsior, Minnesota. Shell loved spending time with family at her cabin on Spider Lake in northern Minnesota, that she and her husband built. She was a scout leader and enjoyed quilting at her church.

Shell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dan; daughter, Timme Clifford; and brothers, Darrell, Marlyn, Duane, David, Lowell, Myron, and Bobby.

Shell is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Patty Stoltenberg; son-in-law, Scott Clifford; granddaughters, Sydney and Nikki Stoltenberg; sisters, Shirley Berg and Carol Berg; and many nieces and nephews.

Her family would like to thank Trouvaille Memory Care and Grace Hospice for taking very good care of her in her final year. 

Her Celebration of Life will be Friday, April 24, 2026, at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church, 301 County Rd 19, Excelsior, MN 55331. Visitation at 10 with ceremony at 11.
