Elizabeth Anne (Betty) Heikkila of Duluth, MN passed away March 27, 2026.

Elizabeth was born December 10, 1929 in Minneapolis, MN to Loyd and Olga Peter of Randolph, MN. She graduated from high school in Randolph, attended St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN and Minneapolis Business College. She was employed as secretary in Mpls and retired from Duluth School Food Service in 1986. 

Elizabeth married Arnold Heikkila August 8, 1953 in Northfield, MN. Arnold service as military police in the Army for two years and was employed by the University of MN. They resided in Augusta, GA, Minneapolis, Walker, Bagley, and Duluth, MN. They spent 26 years wintering in Alamo, TX after retirement.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Arnie, and their children: Nancy Wagner of Arlington, VA, Susan (Tom) Oland of Casper, WY, Steven of Duluth, MN, Cheryl Ziehl of Douglas, GA, Kevin (Linda) of Montesano, WA, and Jeff (Jackie) of Duluth, MN. There are 10 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, sister Elaine Peter, and grandson Travis Ziehl.

She was a member of The Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd since 1967.

Cremation by the Cremation Society of Minnesota, Duluth. Internment at Lakeside Cemetary, Randolph, MN and a celebration of 

life at a later date when family can attend.
