Kim Hugh Garman, 72, of Duluth, Minnesota, died at his home on March 31, 2026. He was born on June 1, 1953, in Willmar, to Roger Henry Garman and Margaret Mae Marks.

Kim was preceded in death by his parents, Roger (Doris) Garman, and Margaret (Roland) Leaf, sister and brother-in-law Ginger and David Akerson and his nephew John Ryan Schlegel.

He is survived by his sisters, Karen Garman and Kristin (Brian) Schlegel.  Nephew Jason (Mandy) Akerson, Jarin (Nathan Houdek), Kaitlin (Jason) Budish, Jesika (Matt) Baker, and Kyle Patten.

Kim graduated in 1971 from Willmar High School and attended St. Cloud State University. He continued his education with courses in typesetting and medical coding. He was known for his intellect, love of learning, reading, and several hobbies.  Over the years, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad, Southern Minnesota Beet Sugar, and St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth.

Kim was a private person, keeping mostly to himself.  He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.  No service is planned at this time.
