Obituary of Howard Abraham Orn
Orn, Howard “Howie” , age 98 of New Hope passed away peacefully on March 21, 2026 while in the loving care of the staff at Woodlake Care Center, New Hope. He was born May 18, 1927 in Kingston, Minnesota
World War II, U.S. Army Veteran. Howie will be remembered for his proud Finnish heritage, he built his home in St. Louis Park and he was a man who knew how to fix things. Devoted to his wife, he would move heaven and earth to see that she was well taken care of. He was devoted to his wife and family in every part of his life. He was happiest when he was on "the go" with his wife Ann. Their RV camper provided the freedom to travel throughout the United States and maybe even stop at a casino or two.
Ann and Howie, AKA "The Dancers" never missed an opportunity to kick up their heels to some big band & old time tunes. Together they danced thier way through life and well into their 90s!
Howie would often reminisce about their trips to Europe and how wonderful it was to meet new relatives and even see the Pope!
He was preceded in death by, his loving wife of 65 years, Ann; their daughter Linda Nelson; granddaughter Tammy Hutchins; parents, Abraham and Mary Orn (Pelto); siblings, William Orn; sisters in-law, Julie Orn, Marguerite Orn
He will be deeply missed by; Daughter, Sharon Reynolds (Dave); granddaughter, Jennifer Winkler; great grandchildren, Jeffrey, Megan, and Evan; Daughter Suzette (Mark) Langen, grandson Michael (Tori) Dillon, grandson Jordan (Myau) Langen, great-grandaughter, Yume. Granddaughter, KayLa (Zack) Marchand, great-granddaughters, Andi Jo and Leila.Great granddaughter, Dody (Mike) Engle, great-great-granddaughters, Cheynne and Katelynn.Great-granddaughter, Shanna Evans, great-great-granddaughters, Kylie and ChIoe; Great-granddaughter, Nicole Hutchins (Nolan), and great-great-granddaughter, Scarlet. Survived by Loving nieces and nephews; brother Richard Orn; son-in-law, Jack (Arlene) Nelson, Lifelong friends, Jackie and Buddy and Judy and Jim Decker.
Memorial Service 10 am Monday April 20th St. Raphael Catholic Church in the Spirit Chapel, 7301 Bass Lake Rd, Crystal MN 55428 with visitation at church one hour before service. Howie will be laid to rest with his wife after luncheon. Interment will be at 1pm at Gethsemane Catholic Cemetery, 8151 N 42nd Ave, New Hope.
