Mark Lee Obituary
Lee, Mark age 67 of Brooklyn Park, passed away at home on March 18th, 2026.
Mark grew up in Fargo, North Dakota and St. Cloud, Minnesota. He graduated from Technical High School in St. Cloud, and received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Minnesota. He had a long career as a reliability engineer for the aviation industry.
Mark played trumpet and flugelhorn in the Roseville Big Band and performed with the Roseville Community Band, the Star of the North Concert Band, and the St. Michael's Orchestra in Bloomington. He was part of the IDS "World's Largest" Marching Band in the 1994 Aquatennial Parade and has performed for numerous musicals and services at Peace United Methodist Church. He also performed at St. Odilia's in Shoreview and other local churches and played in the Swing Beat Big Band.
Mark was a member of the Camarata Brass Ensemble from its founding until the early 80's and also occasionally performed with the Canon Choir of Brass.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Mildred; and sister, Patricia.
He is survived by his sisters, Linda Peterson and Sheren (Stephen) Newstrum; niece, Kathryn Peterson, nephews, David Newstrum, and Dylan (Gabrielle) Newstrum, and many beloved cousins, grand-nieces and nephews, family, and friends.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at 11:00 AM, with visitation one hour prior to the service, at Word of Peace Lutheran Church, 21705 129th Ave N, Rogers.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the family.
