Christine "Chris" King Obituary

Christine “Chris” Louise King, age 71, of Chanhassen, MN, passed away with grace and quiet strength on October 23, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with severe lung disease. Born on March 22, 1954, and raised in Northfield, MN, she was the beloved daughter of Graham Stanton “Stan” Frear and Helen Louise Frear.

Chris devoted her life to helping others. She radiated kindness, beauty, and compassion in every space she entered. As her only daughter, I had the profound privilege of seeing the world through her eyes. She was not only my mother — she was my first teacher, my fiercest protector, and the heart of every home we built together. Whether she was fostering greyhounds or advocating for others living with lung disease, her joy, optimism, and unwavering spirit left a lasting imprint on everyone who knew her.

For more than 30 years, Chris served as an Occupational Therapist, most recently with Fairview Home Health Care. She was admired for her dedication, perseverance, and steadfast commitment to helping her patients achieve their goals. Her colleagues and patients alike knew her as someone who showed up fully — with skill, empathy, and determination.

Outside of her work, Chris cherished time with friends, family, and her beloved greyhounds. Her gentle humor, generous heart, and deep love for animals were constants throughout her life.

She is survived by her daughter and biggest fan, Jennifer King, and her brother, Jonathan Frear. She is preceded in death by her parents, Stan and Helen Frear.

A celebration of her remarkable life will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Prairie Lutheran Church, 11000 Blossom Road, Eden Prairie, MN 55347. Flowers and memorials are welcome; memorial contributions will be donated to animal rescue organizations in her honor.
