Phyllis (Johnson) Markes Obituary

Markes, Phyllis (Johnson)

Age 100 of Richfield.  Led by the angels into Paradise on March 4, 2026, to be reunited with her husband Dewayne “Dewey” and parents DeWitt and Arlene Johnson.  Survived by sons Larry (Mary) and Steven (Terre), grandchildren Gwen, Karin, Abigail, Jeffrey, Brian, and William.  Eight great-grandchildren.

Phyllis was a wonderful, wife, mother, grandma, and friend.  She loved her family, was a fabulous cook, knitter, and conversationalist.  She loved to travel the USA, and spend summers  at their Wisconsin lake place and winters in Florida.  She was an unbeatable 500 player, and loved cards and reading until macular degeneration damaged her eyesight.

Our thanks to the Brighton hospice helpers and the staff at Mainstreet Village, including Pastor Lane, Lucas, Caroline, Archie, and all who were so caring.

Funeral service at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 7625 Chicago Ave. S., Richfield, on April 14 at 11 am with visitation an hour before.  Burial at a later date in Webb Lake, WI.  Memorials preferred to Macular Degeneration Association or House of Prayer Church.

Markes, Phyllis (Johnson)
