Robert L “Rob”

Age 78, of Eagan. Passed away on March 5, 2026 with his wife, Kathy, at his side. Preceded in death by parents Laurence & Beverly (Barron) Dykhoff, parents-in-law Bud &  Eileen (Schiltgen) Molitor, sister-in-law Maureen Molitor, & brother-in-law Jim Molitor. Survived by loving wife of 36 years Kathy Molitor; step-children Matt (Michelle) Boehmer NY, Laura Gonzalez Eagan MN; step-grandchildren Emma (Charlie Bancroft-Howard) Boehmer CO, Ethan Boehmer CO, Aundrea & Maya Gonzalez Eagan MN; siblings Rick (Linda) Dykhoff MN, Leslie (Bill) Mowbray ND, Bill (Marla) Dykhoff ND, Tracy (Jim Kraus) Dykhoff-Miller ND, Joni (Jeff) Domino NE, sister-in-law Patty Egan MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.

Rob, the oldest of six siblings, was born in Devils Lake, ND. He graduated from Lakota, ND high school and earned a bachelors degree in finance from Minot State University. He lived in MN for over 50 years, but his heart was always in ND. Rob was a true family man. His ND family meant the world to him. He especially loved his step-children Matt (Michelle) and Laura, but the grandchildren Emma, Ethan, Aundrea & Maya were the lights of his life.

Rob, a proud Marine (1967-1971), served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He loved rooting for the Green Bay Packers, LA Dodgers, & Minnesota Wild. Rob was a savy opponent in Fantasy Football & Baseball.

In 2013, Rob received a lung transplant at the U of M hospital, which extended his life another 12 years. Those years gave Rob and Kathy the opportunity to travel, enjoy special times with MN and ND families, and gatherings with special friends.

A celebration of Rob’s life will be on June 30, 2026 at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave S, Edina MN 10am - 1:00pm, interment following at Fort Snelling Cemetery.
