Marlys Jeanne Weber, 93, died at Episcopal Homes, St. Paul, on February 20th, 2026, with two daughters by her side and many family members in attendance during her last days.
She was born in Minneapolis, MN, on June 16,1932, to Howard and Dorothy Hagen. She lived in South Minneapolis most of her life and attended high school at Holy Angels. After working as a stay at home mom for 7 children, she went on to earn a BA in human services and BS in nutrition. She worked 5 yrs for a human services agency, ran her own nutrition business for 12 yrs, then worked at a county service center for 14 yrs until she retired at 77.
Marlys was a 60 year member of St Joan of Arc church, her spiritual home, and loved it dearly. She was the vision caster and instrumental in the creation of the Memorial Garden for cremated remains. She was very involved in peace and justice issues; joining many demonstrations and international delegations. She was a longtime member of WAMM. Marlys loved the outdoors, especially hiking and biking, and instilled that love in her children, a legacy passed down. Three times she biked 500 miles to Chicago (fundraiser), and from St Paul to Grand Marais for pleasure. She was a matriarch, feminist, progressive Catholic, and a fighter for social justice and human rights. She hosted many rambunctious family holiday gatherings, serving excellent food. She loved parties, attending and hosting, and her children loved the many birthday parties she provided them.
Preceded in death by her parents, and her beloved Grandma Hamm. Marlys is survived by her 7 children with Gordon L. Weber (div.); Laure (Rick Kastin) Weber, Meg (Don) McKeen, Gordon (Wanda) Weber, John (Michele) Weber, Mike (Lynn Keegan) Weber, Heidi Connor, Chris (Priscilla Briggs) Weber: 14 grandchildren; Chris Kastin, Erin (Pablo Orozco) McKeen, Ryan (Andrea) McKeen, Cameron (Paige) Weber, Erik (Joelle) Weber, Tori (Chad) Peitz, Colin Weber, Benjamin (Jenni) Weber, Laurean (David) Meissner, Kenneth (Rhiannin) Corlee, Shawn (Leslie) Corlee, Maxwell (Brunna) Weber, Morgan (Leonardo) Weber, Madeleine Weber; and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral, Friday, April 24th, 2026 at 11:00, with visitation 1 hour before at St Joan of Arc, 4537 3rd Ave.,Mpls. Memorials to St Joan of Arc-Memorial Garden.
