SANDELL (Rieder), Yvonne Ione, age 80, of Mounds View, passed away on March 7, 2026.  Retired 36 year Kindergarten teacher in Spring Lake Park District 16.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Henry Rieder and Ione Marianne (Krampitz); sisters in-law, Barbara Coats, Judy Hengstler and nephew, Steven Hengstler.  

She will be deeply missed by her loving husband of 58 years, Paul Sandell; brother, Chuck Rieder (Julie Lund); cousin, Rick Wallace (Julie); nephews, Timothy (Ann) Hengstler, Greg (Lana) Hengstler, Charles (Paula) Hengstler, Ken (Dawn) Coats, Brian (Vicki) Coats; special niece, Annie (Andy) Rheineck many relatives and good friends.

Yvonne and Paul enjoyed traveling the United States, learning the history of each state in person.  They shared time cross country skiing on the North Shore during the holidays as a "must do" activity. Yvonne was a 35 year member supporting the Guthrie Theatre.  Paul would take her out boating on Lake Minnetonka.  In latter years, they made several trips to Europe. They found cruising the Carribean and Alaska especially enjoyable.  Yearly travels to Watertown and Delano at Christmas brought them the comfort and love of time with her extended family.  

A very grateful thanks to Dr. George Canas, a kidney specialist, for his 30 years of excellent and personable care. 

A Celebration of Life 11am Saturday, June 6th at Saint Paul United Church of Christ, 201 Buffalo Street, Delano (763-972-6689).  Visitation one hour before service at church.   Reception will follow service.
