Sawyer, Thomas Arthur age 76 of Brooklyn Park passed away on January 16, 2026. Preceded in death by parents Wally and Ramona; brothers Jack and Tony; sister Gail Christine. Survived by siblings Kathy (Dennis, deceased) Muller, Carol (Jim) Hicks, Steve, Jill (Dan) Kovar; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Tom was a US Marine Veteran; Tom was selected as the honorman among all the graduating recruits in the 3029 Series of Company “I”, singled out as the best with his uniformly high standards of performance at physical training, marksmanship, academic studies, practical work, and drill and inspections. Tom demonstrated superior leadership, responsibility and devotion to duty. In addition, he had the highest score in the final physical fitness test of any recruits in the 3029 Series earning him the Physical Excellence Award. Tom was a born again Christian, lived his life simply, was a loyal friend, very humble and a good man.
