Stephen Michael Stenstrom  “Stenny“, 75, of Duluth, MN, had a heart attack shoveling snow and passed away on Sunday, February 22, 2026 at the Mayo in Rochester, MN.

Steve was born and raised in Duluth graduating from Denfeld High School in 1969. He married the love of his life Marjorie in 1985 and they celebrated 40 years last November. He joined the West Duluth Moose Lodge #1478 where he proudly volunteered, held many honorary positions including Governor, participated on the Ritual Team, and obtained the Pilgrim Degree of Merit in 2009. He volunteered for the Duluth Auxiliary Police working with DPD for special events. He worked for I.S.D #709 for 44 years retiring in 2013 as the Engineer at Lowell Magnet School. After retiring he worked part time doing maintenance at Players Sports Bar until his passing. 

Steve was a very hard worker. He was very good to his neighbors always helping with snow removal and repairs. He enjoyed puzzles, listening to music, and making his pretzels, Christmas mashed potato balls, and dog treats that he shared with many. His last gift was being an organ donor through Life Source.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Mildred (Marquart) Stenstrom; brothers David, Jerold, Harlan, and Eldon; Sister Anne; and in laws Tom, Wally, and Angie.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie;  children Kim Budisalovich (Shane) and Tim Stenstrom; step-children Chris and Jamie (Rik); grandchildren Cody (Aleigha), Payton (Kayce), Rachael, Mackenzie, Elizabeth, Christiana, Keaton, and Marek; sister Lois Kmeich, brother Jeffrey Stenstrom; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his loyal dog Pooh Bear.

Visitation will be at 11:00 a.m. until the 12:00 p.m. service on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Cremation Society, 4100 Grand Avenue, with a Celebration Life to follow immediately after at Players Sports Bar.
