Terri Lynn St. John-Stebe, 71, passed away on February 26, 2026, at Solvay House in Duluth, Minnesota surrounded by her family. Born on October 20, 1954, Terri grew up a proud Kenwood girl. After graduating from Central High School, she completed a yearlong horticulture program that equipped her with the skills to create stunning gardens that surrounded her home.
Her passion for education continued later in life when she achieved a significant milestone—earning a degree in Early Childhood Studies/Family Education at the age of 50. This accomplishment brought her immense pride and set the stage for a meaningful career. Following her college graduation, Terri joined the Head Start program through Duluth Public Schools (ISD 709).
Terri’s personal life was equally rich and fulfilling. She shared 45 years of marriage with her husband Jim. Together they built a loving family that includes their children Ashley (Aaron) Hoover and Jack (Antonia) St. John-Stebe. Terri was also a devoted grandmother to Avery, Andi, Owen, Max, Will, and Lily—affectionately known to them as “Mor Mor.” She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren.
Her adventurous spirit extended beyond her home as she traveled extensively. Terri volunteered for Ruby’s Pantry, and coordinated the same 5 mile water tables for Grandma’s Marathon for over 30 years.
In addition to her husband, Terri is survived by her children, grandchildren mother Helen (Wasbotten) St. John; sisters Jean St. John and Stacy St. John, her 6 grandchildren as well as numerous friends who were touched by her kindness and generosity.
Terri was predeceased by her father Wilfred (Bud) St. John at a young age and later losing Norm Ogren (bonus “Papa”), and in-laws Jack and Lorraine Stebe.
Terri’s legacy is one of love, compassion, creativity, and resilience. Those who knew her will remember the beauty she brought into their lives.
May Terri’s memory bring comfort to all who loved her as they celebrate a life well-lived. A Celebration of Life will be held on March 5, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM at Ridgeview Country Club 700 W Redwing St.
