Shirley Kay Isaacson Obituary

Shirley Kay Isaacson passed away on 2/22/26 at Lakehouse Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 78.  She was a resident of Elk River, Minnesota.


Shirley was born November 29, 1947, in Pelican Rapids, Minn., to Olaf and Edna Isaacson (maiden name Randall.)


Shirley attended the University of Minnesota and she worked as a Claims Adjudicator at the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)  for over 20 years prior to her retirement. She was also a long-time member of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Elk River.


Shirley had a great passion for pottery, needlework and spinning wool.  Other hobbies included making Ukrainian eggs, gardening, and there were many kitties and dogs she loved throughout her life.  Shirley also enjoyed cooking and entertaining but most of all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.


Preceded in death by her parents Olaf and Edna Isaacson, and brother-in-law Paul Burd.


Shirley is survived by her brother Richard Isaacson of Minneapolis, her sister Marjorie Burd of Halsted, Minn., her nephews Tim, Terry, and Rick and their families, her goddaughter Amy and her family, cousins, and friends from church and her neighborhood.


Shirley requested that no funeral service be held, but rather that friends and family remember her fondly.
