It is with deep sadness the family of Arthur E. Johnson, of Norwood Young America, share the news of his passing on January 25, 2026, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minnesota. He was surrounded by love.
He was born on October 14, 1935, in Glencoe, Minnesota, the son of Earl Johnson and Mabel (Lueders) Johnson.
Arthur graduated from Norwood High School. Afterward, he enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1956 to 1958. Following his military service, he worked on the family farm and later attended Dunwoody Technical College, where he graduated and went on to work in precision sheet metal.
Arthur was a longtime member of the Waconia Moravian Church in Waconia, Minnesota. He loved listening to music and singing in church. He also enjoyed watching western movies and working on his jigsaw puzzles.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Mabel Johnson; his sister, Earlene Weltz; his brother, Eugene Johnson; his wife, Barbara Johnson; and his beloved son, Mark Johnson.
He is survived by his daughter, Laurie Mathias (Tom) of Darlington, Wisconsin; daughter‑in‑law, Amy Bleek (Dan) Waconia, Minnesota; sister, LuAnn Johnson of Waconia, Minnesota; friend, Marlene Mahoney of Chaska, Minnesota; He is also survived by his grandchildren Samantha Yuen (Stephen) of Darlington, Wisconsin; Elizabeth Stecklein (Brandon) of Racine Wisconsin, Rebecca Garrison (Garth) of Darlington, Wisconsin, Kathleen Mathias (Dylan Anderson) of Burlington, Wisconsin, Hannah Johnson (Hunter Gaikowski) of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Owen Johnson of Norwood Young America, Minnesota, and Blake Njos of Blooming Prairie, Minnesota.
Arthur's legacy continues in his great grandchildren who survive him, Henry Yuen, Piper, Skye and Dawson Stecklein, Scarlett, Ruby and Garry Garrison, Gannon Gerster and Mylah Njos.
A visitation and Memorial Service will be held at the Waconia Moravian Church, located at 209 E 2nd St, Waconia, MN 55387, on April 25, 2026 at 11:00 AM
