It is with deep love and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Bernadette “Detta” Luhman on February 17, 2026.
She was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter, Lisa (Matt Bass) and grand doggies, her son, Bryan, and a proud and cherished grandmother to her grandson, Oliver, who brought her immense joy. Nothing made her happier than spending time with family — especially watching Oliver grow and sharing quiet moments together.
A natural problem solver, she approached life with determination, resilience, and practicality. Through her hard work and dedication, she showed her children that perseverance and effort can overcome life’s challenges and lead to meaningful accomplishments. A talented handywoman, she loved a good home project and took great pride in DIY work around the house. She also found peace and happiness in the simple beauty of the outdoors, often enjoying time outside and watching the deer pass by.
She will be welcomed in heaven by her husband, Jim, who passed away in 2020. Their love and partnership were a lasting example of commitment and devotion. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Bernadette; her father, Larry Derosier; and her brothers, Larry and Jerry. She is lovingly remembered by her sisters, Barb, Diane, and Donna, along with many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched with her kindness and strength.
Her legacy lives on through the family she loved deeply and the values she instilled -hard work, compassion, and unwavering love.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
