Joseph Isadore LaVictoire Jr., of Minneapolis, Minnesota, by way of Flint, Michigan, passed away of natural causes at his home on Monday, February 16, 2026.
Joe was born in Flint, Michigan on April 21, 1973, the oldest son of Joseph Isadore LaVictoire Sr. and Carol Joan LaVictoire (Palacios). His life was forever changed when, at the age of 12, he survived a brain tumor. Joe graduated from Southwestern Academy High School in 1991 and went on to earn an Associate's Degree from Mott Community College. He worked for many years at the Meijer Pharmacy on Pierson Road before relocating to Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Little Joe, as he was known to his family, never met a stranger. He enjoyed daily walks, McDonald's Filet-O-Fish sandwiches, and hunting for treasures at thrift shops — and there was never a deal not worth taking. He loved nothing more than sharing his finds with others. A peanut butter and jelly sandwich aficionado, Joe also had a gift for origami and crafts, which he delighted in making for his nieces and nephews. For 34 years straight, Joe looked forward to walking the annual Labor Day Mackinaw Bridge walk. He loved to tell stories of his walks and the camping trips he went on when he lived in Michigan.
Joe is survived by his mother and father, Joe and Carol (Palacios) LaVictoire; his brother, Aaron (Kara) LaVictoire; his sisters, Gayle (Johnathon) Hurn and Marie (Sam Liebo) LaVictoire; and his nieces and nephews, Dana, Nathan, Travis, Winery, Chet, Viva, Faye, Emmeline, Everson, and Ellory. He was preceded in death by his sister Amy LaVictoire; his grandparents Isadore and Virginia LaVictoire and Ignacio and Bernadette Palacios; and his aunts and uncles Helen Lemarand, Irene LaVictoire, Paul LaVictoire, Dolores Black, Yolanda Palacios, Theresa Valley, Mary Helen Ranville, Bernadette Elizando, and Elizabeth Burgess, as well as many beloved cousins.
A service celebrating Joe's life will be held In April in Michigan with details to follow.
