Gary Weisman, 70, passed away peacefully on February 15th, 2026. He lived a life devoted to family, always took pride in his work, and loved the outdoors.
Gary was born on February 12th, 1956 in Fargo, ND to Stan and Betty Jean but the family soon moved to Edina, MN. While here he developed a love for outdoor activities such as snow and water skiing, fishing, and hunting. Later in life he would share these passions with his kids and grandkids, spending countless days on the lakes and in the fields, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Much of Gary’s adult life was spent living in New Albany, IN where he was President/CEO of FireKing International, a manufacturing company specializing in fire rated products. During his tenure at FireKing he was not only known for the company’s success but also for prioritizing the interest and well-being of his employees. He truly believed in the importance of treating everyone with dignity and respect, which made him an admired leader.
After retiring he moved back to Minnesota to be closer to family. Although words cannot fully express the impact he had on our lives, his kindness and generosity will always be remembered and he will be missed greatly.
Gary is survived by his brothers Scott and Lee (Gretchen); wife Mary Lou; children Tucker, Samantha, Joe and Pam; and grandchildren Charlotte, Jackson and Easton.
A celebration of life will be held privately amongst family. In lieu of flowers, we encourage friends to make charitable donations to the American Cancer Society in Gary's name. Cards and letters expressing how Gary impacted your life can also be sent to The Weisman Family at 10101 Bren Road E, Unit 534, Minnetonka, MN 55343.
