June Kaye (Underhill) Winter, 68, of Pillager, MN, passed away on February 16, 2026, at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth, MN, following a cancer diagnosis, surgery and a short hospitalization. 

June was born in Wadena, MN to Chester Underhill, Jr., and Rena E. (Orvis) Underhill on May 6, 1957. She was a graduate of Motley High School, Class of 1976. She completed Secretarial training and earned her LPN Degree from Central Lakes College - Brainerd. She worked for many years in home health and group homes. 

June enjoyed reading, hand embroidery, gardening and sitting outdoors enjoying nature. She loved her cats Charlie and Baxter as well as her parakeets and goldfish. 

June is survived by sons Ryan Winter, Pillager, MN and Michael Winter, Staples, MN, sisters, Lori (Don) Keating, Bellevue, WA, and Susan (Neil) Eckes, Big Lake, MN. 

June was preceded in death by her parents Chester Underhill, Jr., and Rena E. (Orvis) Underhill and grandparents Chester and Roxie Underhill, Sr. and John (Jack) and Lillie Orvis. 

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
