Charles (Chuck) Ringness
Age 79, died on February 17, 2026 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital. Chuck’s death was peaceful. He was supported in his transition by his daughter, Stacey Ringness, and Life Partner, Mimi Williams. Chuck was the son of Cornell Ringness and Olydia Ringness. His siblings are Beverly Hoff, Donald Ringness, Marcella Matchett (deceased), Marshall, and Elaine Gamaldi. Chuck is survived by his two children and daughter-in-law: Stacey, Arthur, and his wife Kate, along with his 4 grandchildren, Dan, Jessie, Ellie, and Reilly.
There will be two services. The first will be on February 27 at First Lutheran Church of Norway Lake Parish: 11-12 visitation, 12 service, 1-2:15 food and sharing of community.
The second will be a Memorial Gathering on March 8 at the York Plaza Community Room, 7230 York Ave S, Edina, MN a Celebration of Life event from 3 - 5 with Remarks at 4:00 with food and drinks.
Chuck was an internationally recognized artist and a professor of art. He collaborated with artists such as Robert Rauschenberg and James Rosenquistartist, who helped pave the way for the modern art scene around the world. He obtained degrees from New London High School, St. Cloud State University, University of Cincinnati, and The Tamarind Art Institute. Through out his career he created many beautiful pieces of art that have been hung in galleries around the world and taught as a professor of art at The University of Saskatoon in saskatchewan Canada. He also was a visiting professor at several U.S. universities as well as Moscow, Russia.
