Mary Marguerite Iacono Obituary

Mary Marguerite Iacono (1945-2026)

Mary Marguerite Iacono, 80, of Minneapolis, MN, passed away on February 14, 2026.

Born in Minneapolis in 1945 to John and Jean (Copeland) Iacono, Mary was the fifth of seven children. She attended St. Charles Borromeo, St. Margaret’s, the University of Minnesota, and Hennepin County Vocational School.

In the early 1970s, Mary studied cabinetmaking. Although the local union was not yet ready to welcome women into the trade, she continued to create beautiful furniture and home accessories throughout her life. Friends often joked that she would one day be buried with her table saw.

Professionally, Mary was the owner and creative force behind Procomp Services, a typesetting and graphic design business in Northeast Minneapolis that she ran for nearly two decades.

Mary was also a devoted opera enthusiast, attending countless performances over the years—especially when a gifted soprano took the stage.

She is survived by her best friend, Cathy Schabot; her brothers, Bill and Mike; her sister, Pauline; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Jean; her brother, Jack; and her sisters, Cele and Kathy.

A small private dinner will be held in the spring.
