In Loving Memory of Robert James Toso

Robert James Toso, 65, of Princeton, MN was called home on February 9, 2026 losing his battle 

with cancer with his significant other, Kathy and his pup, Ole by his side; also present were his 

loving daughter Paige and sister, Mary. 

Rob was born in Morris, MN on January 20th, 1961 to parents John and Joanne Toso. He was 

baptized at Peace Lutheran Church in Morris and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in 

Alexandria, MN. He graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria. 

Rob married Kellie O’Brien at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, MN in 1981. His uncle, Paul 

Carlson officiated. Rob’s work career was in sales that eventually took him and Kellie to 

Tennessee where they raised their family; Benjamin born in 1982, Jenna in 1986 and Paige in

1989. The couple later divorced. 

Rob loved the outdoors, hunting and especially fishing on Lake Latoka, where his parents lived. 

He also enjoyed snowmobiling, motorbiking, and water skiing. 

Rob reconnected with Kathy, a friend from Alexandria and they soon became partners. He and 

Kathy spent time together fishing, attending concerts and loving on there special friend, Ole. 

Additionally, he was passionate about cooking and became highly skilled at barbecuing and 

smoking meat. He kept bee hives for honey and later tapped maple trees for syrup. They also 

enjoyed gardening together. 

A gentle and kind spirit, Rob was a blessing to many. His family and friends cherish his memory 

and celebrate the legacy he leaves behind. Robert’s passion for life, his wisdom and his warm 

laughter will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He touched the lives of 

many through his generous heart and steadfast support. Rob will be laid to rest at Summit 

Cemetery in Morris, MN. May his soul rest in eternal peace. 

Rob is survived by his significant other of 17 years, Kathy Krohnfeldt and their pup, Ole of 

Princeton, his daughters, Jenna Toso and Paige (Micah)McCormack of Tennessee, grandson 

Theo Toso, his parents John and Tami Toso of Owatonna, MN, a brother David (Karyn) Toso of 

Danbury TX, sister Mary Sanchez of Sarasota, FL., two step brothers and two step sisters. Also, 

Kathy’s children and grandchildren, sisters and brothers in law. Many cousins, nieces and 

nephews.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Joanne Toso and his son, Benjamin, brother-in-law, Juan 

Sanchez, his grandparents and a step brother. A celebration of life for family and friends will be 

held in Morris, MN in May, details to follow
