James William Kovacevich, age 67, of Duluth, MN, passed away unexpectedly at his home on February 10, 2026. He was born on January 8, 1959, in Duluth, MN, to Frank and Hope Kovacevich. 

James was a fun spirit whose laugh could travel miles. He loved biking anywhere he could and had a deep passion for fishing, bird watching and collecting any sporting good items he could. He loved animals and you could always count on him asking to pet your dog. James was also a dedicated, employee of Park Point Manor Nursing home, where he was known for his kind heart. He was a devoted husband and father.

He is survived by his wife, Annayea Kovacevich; Mother, Hope Kovacevich; children, Jimmy, Zach, Krista(Austin), siblings, Deborah Nelson, Julianne (Steve) Wokowiak, Mike (Tracy) Kovacevich; Grandchildren Ryker, Karina; and his nieces and nephews.

James is preceded in death by his Father Frank Kovacevich 

A Celebration of Life will take place from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday March 7th at Gethsemane Covenant Church, Hermantown MN. Family and friends are invited to come celebrate the life of James
