Lori Dawn Curnow (Dougherty)

July 22, 1972 – February 6, 2026

Lori Dawn Curnow, age 53, of Duluth, MN, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2026, following a courageous and long-fought battle with cancer. Through it all, Lori maintained the strength, grace, and trademark wit that defined her life.

Born in Duluth on July 22, 1972, to Larry Sr. and Sue Dougherty, Lori was a lifelong resident of the community she loved. A proud graduate of Denfeld High School’s Class of 1991, she later studied accounting at Duluth Business University. Lori’s professional life was anchored by her incredible 25-plus year career as the Office Manager at Fen-Tech Inc., where she was a pillar of the company and a friend to all.

Lori was the rare soul who was equally kind and sarcastic—a combination that made her both a trusted confidante and the funniest person in the room. She found her greatest happiness in the simple pleasures of life: tending to her garden, traveling to warm destinations, and bowling. Above all, her world revolved around her grandchildren, who were the absolute lights of her life.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Richard; her son, Tyler; her daughter-in-law, Stacie; and her mother, Sue Dougherty. Her legacy lives on through her three grandchildren, Isabella, Elliot, and Arlo. She also leaves behind her four brothers, Larry Jr., Joseph Sr., Tim, and Tom, along with many extended family members, friends, and colleagues. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Larry Dougherty Sr.

Service Information:

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at First Lutheran Church, 1100 E Superior Street, Duluth, MN.

Visitation: 1:00 PM

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM

Celebration of Life:

In true honor of Lori’s love for the game and a good time, a Celebration of Life will follow the service at Incline Station Bowling Center, 601 W Superior St, Duluth, MN. The family invites you to share stories and laughter in her memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Duluth Youth Bowling Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be made via cash or check payable to Duluth Area USBC.
