Obituary of Marlene Veronica Cremers
Marlene Veronica (Oehrlein) Cremers gracefully passed away on January 24, 2026 at the age of 89.
Marlene was one of thirteen children, born to William and Clara Oehrlein on March 25, 1936, in the small town of St. Anthony, MN.
She was crowned Butter Princess in 1953 at the Sauk Centre Butter Days. Marlene married her high school sweetheart, Dale Cremers, in 1955 and they moved to the Twin Cities. She worked at Northwest Orient Airlines while Dale was stationed in Japan.
Marlene’s faith was never ending. She was able to fulfill one of her dreams of traveling to Italy with the church and her sister-in-law, Alice, where they visited many churches and religious sites, ending with a visit to the Vatican.
Marlene lived her life in the spirit of Jesus and loved her family, friends and neighbors. She was the ultimate caretaker to all, including her dedication to the Meals on Wheels program while bringing food and company to warm the hearts of many lonely and housebound seniors.
A special thank you to Charlotte Swanson and her dedicated caregivers at Dignified Choice and to Sarah Postiglione for her loving care of Marlene.
Marlene is survived by her children, Michele, Jay (Marcy), Karleen (Norm), Joel (Roseanne); grandchildren, Nicole (Tom), Chelsey (Colin), Caitlin, Justin (Carly), Taylor, Lily, Jack, Ian, Jacob; great-grandchildren, Sarah, Madison, Charlotte, Emilia, Dean, Nora, Nolan; Brother, Bill (Mary).
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; parents, William and Clara; siblings, Vera, Lorraine, Delores, Arnold, Wilfred, Werner, Rose Marie, Jim, Donna Mae, Leon, Ted; son-in-law, David.
A Private interment will take place at the Fort Snelling Cemetery in the spring.
