Stephanie Marie Ramstad passed away peacefully on January 26, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her parents, Orrin and Marcia Ramstad; her brother, Steven (Lisa) Ramstad; her treasured niece, Nora Ramstad; many extended family members and friends; and her beloved cats, Abrie and Athea.

A graduate of Jefferson High School in Bloomington, Minnesota, Stephanie went on to earn her undergraduate degree from Knox College and later completed a master’s in social science from the University of Chicago. During her college years, she studied abroad in France, igniting a lifelong passion for travel and a deep interest in world cultures, international politics, and global issues. She built lasting friendships nearby and around the globe and held those connections close throughout her life.

Stephanie’s career brought her deep purpose and fulfillment as she served the public in her roles with the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Stephanie was fond of painting which brought her great comfort and joy.

She will be remembered for her generosity, her gentle spirit, and her remarkable intuition for recognizing and responding to the needs of others. From an early age, Stephanie looked for ways to help people, working on a crisis line in high school, mentoring teens thinking about college, reaching out to newly arrived immigrants and feeding neighbors. Her quiet acts of kindness brought comfort and reassurance to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Throughout life’s most difficult moments, Stephanie demonstrated extraordinary courage and grace. Her strength, resilience, and dignity continue to inspire those who loved her.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, February 15th at 2 PM at Transfiguration Lutheran Church, 11000 France Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431.
