Steve, age 68, of Eagan, MN, passed away on January 23, 2026, with his wife and children by his side.

Steve was born on November 24, 1957, in Fergus Falls, MN. He was raised in Richfield, MN, and graduated from Richfield High School in 1976. He later earned a business degree from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management. While attending school, he worked at Lieberman Enterprises, where he met the love of his life, Julie. The couple married in September 1987 in Burnsville, MN. They moved to Des Moines, IA; St. Louis, MO; and then settled in Eagan, MN, where they raised their daughter Christine and son Ben.

Steve enjoyed a long and successful career in pharmaceutical and nutritional sales, including 20 years with Abbott Laboratories, followed by roles at Perrigo and Atkins Nutritionals, before retiring in 2017. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a lifelong Minnesota Twins fan, an avid music lover, and always quick to share a witty comment with a friend or stranger. He was a special man who left a lasting impact on all who met him.

Preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Beverley Stelman. Survived by his wife, Julie, of 38 years; daughter Christine (Jeff) Stefanik; son Ben (Madison) Stelman; granddaughters Sophia Stelman and Grace Stefanik; siblings Sister Joan Marie Stelman, brother Bruce Stelman, and brother Scott (Stephanie) Stelman; niece and nephews; and many other loving family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Steve’s honor to the Ronald McDonald House Charities or to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, February 9, at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club, 17976 Judicial Road, Lakeville, MN. The family will receive guests starting at 1:00 p.m., followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. A light meal will be served after the service.
