Michael L. Topham, age 66, passed away on January 25, 2026, following a short illness at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was born on October 6, 1959, in Kenosha, Wisconsin, to Lonnie Topham and Marylou Sly (Shaw).
Michael was a proud Wisconsin native and a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan.
He is survived by his mother, Mary Lou Sly (Shaw); his children, Brittany Caple and Brooke Monyelle (Cody); his grandson, Abraham Caple; and his siblings: Suzan Grindey (Joe), Brian Thrasher, Lisa Walters (Tom), and Lonnie Topham II (Sara), along with many nieces and nephews. His great nieces and nephews lovingly called him G.U.M. (Great Uncle Mike).
He was preceded in death by his father, Lonnie Topham, and his sister, Tina Moriva.
Michael faced challenges in life, and in his later years he found comfort, faith, and peace through God and his community at The Waters Edge Community Church, where he was supported and guided by his trusted friend, Pastor Erik.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the amazing and caring staff at Hennepin Healthcare for their compassion and support during his illness.
A service for Michael will be held on February 14 at 11:00 a.m. at The Birch Room at Boundaries, 3807 South Riverside Drive, Beloit, WI. Lunch will be provided following the service. In honor of Michael, Green Bay Packers attire is encouraged.
