Obituary of John Michael Eggert
John Michael Eggert, of Shakopee, MN, passed away at the age of 57; on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Hennepin County Medical Center following complications from renal and pulmonary illness.
Born in Hammond, Indiana, in 1968, John was a man of remarkable intellect, drive and integrity. He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard University and went on to complete his Masters degree, Doctorate and MBA at Purdue University. His professional career reflected both his vision and his leadership, most notably at Topigs Norsvin USA, where he successfully built and led the U.S. branch, serving as President and CEO.
Despite his many accomplishments, John was defined most by his character. He lived with kindness, generosity and unwavering integrity. He loved the outdoors-especially hunting and fishing alongside his daughter. He enjoyed lively card games with his many friends and took great pride in his hosta gardens.
John’s greatest joy was his family, whom he loved deeply and devotedly. A celebration of John’s life will be announced at a later date.
