Susan Lynn Goodman Obituary

Susan L. Goodman (Sue), age 67, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer in Minneapolis, MN on January 22, 2026. A no-nonsense kind of person in the very best way, Sue faced her illness with strength and grace – never complaining, never seeking attention, and always focused on taking care of her family in every way possible.

Sue was born in St. Louis, MO to Rose Fischer Masters and Otto Fischer.

Sue was a proud patriot who loved her country and lived her life with conviction. She took great pride in her work at Washington University Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, where her dedication and work ethic reflected the care she showed in every part of her life. She loved life itself – its routines, comforts, and small joys – and was happiest when surrounded by things that made a house feel like home. Shopping, antiquing, and decorating were among her favorite pastimes, and she had a special fondness for simple comforts.

Above all else, Sue adored her grandchildren, Conor and Miles. They were her greatest joy, and her love for them knew no bounds. She was endlessly proud of them and treasured every moment spent together. Both grandkids gave Sue a new lease on life.

Sue is survived by her husband, Jim, and three children: Brian Blood (Kristi), Stephanie Medlin (Jon), and Michael Goodman (Lauren), her cherished grandchildren, Conor and Miles; her sisters Debra Kohout and Barbara Quint Schaper (Ben). She was a devoted mother and grandmother whose strength, honesty, and fierce love will continue to guide her family.

Sue’s legacy is one of resilience, loyalty, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed, but forever remembered for her straightforward spirit, her generosity, and the way she showed up – without fail – for the people she loved most.
