Roger Alan "Tore" Thompson Obituary

Roger Alan Thompson, known to his family and friends as "Tore," was born December 26th, 1945, and passed away peacefully on January 21st, 2026. He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Margaret Thompson, and his brother, Craig Thompson. He is survived by his devoted daughters, Tina Evanson and Sarah Ann Glewwe; and his loving sisters Louia Thompson and Terry Plochocki.

After graduating high school, Roger served his country in the Vietnam War, carrying that experience with quiet strength and honor throughout his life. Following his military service, Roger built a dedicated career at 3M, where he worked for many years before retiring.

Fishing was one of his greatest passions. Whether ice fishing up north in the stillness of winter, casting lines in Alaska's wild beauty, or enjoying the warmth and salt air in Mexico, being on the water brought him immense joy.

Roger also cherished life's simple pleasures: a good meal, capturing memories through photography, and relaxing with an Old Style beer.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A private ceremony will be held at Fort Snelling.  His celebration of life will be April 10th at 12 p.m. at the American Legion Post 577.
