Robert Louis Gliniany, age 70, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2026, at his home on Sylvan Lake in Pillager, MN, while surrounded by family.  Bob was born on August 14th, 1955, to Joseph and Loretta (Larkin) Gliniany in Minneapolis, MN, and raised in Northeast Minneapolis, graduating from Edison High School in 1973. 

Bob began dating Mary Johnson in 1975, and they were married by the end of that same year. They were blessed with 50 beautiful years together. Bob was a family man and truly appreciated his time on the lake with his wife, three sons, and six grandchildren. He was a faith-filled man who consistently put his trust in the Lord. Bob ventured into many different career paths, some riskier than others, before he found his true passion as an HVAC technician. It was in this field he was gifted the nickname “The Legend” at Methodist Hospital. 

Bob was an avid outdoorsman who thoroughly enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and unbeknownst to some, was a World Broomball Champion. Bob dedicated a large portion of his life to hockey—from coaching his sons when they were young, to traveling to watch his grandkids’ hockey games or compete in their respective activities, to tuning in to any local sports team you can think of. Bob was rooting them on the whole time, and we take comfort in knowing he still is.

Bob is survived by his wife Mary, his sons, Brian (Jenny), Tony (Natalie), and Jacob (Tara), his grandchildren, Lauryn, Julia, Logan, Bryce, Brayden, and Grace Gliniany, as well as his brother Tom Gliniany, sisters Colleen Christensen and Rosanne Nelson, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 15, in the Crown Room at the Wellstead of Rogers, located at 20500 S. Diamond Lake Road, Rogers, MN 55374. Refreshments will be served following the service.
