Dennis Castagneri passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Robbinsdale, Minnesota, after a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer. He was surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Dennis was a longtime resident of Blaine, Minnesota, which he proudly called home.
Dennis was a man of quiet strength, deep faith, and steady presence. In his later years, he began each morning with prayer and meditation, grounding himself in gratitude and reflection. He lived simply and showed up in the ways that mattered most. He was funny, witty, and charismatic — someone who genuinely loved people. Dennis had a gift for meeting strangers, making friends quickly, and leaving others feeling at ease in his presence. He worked over 40 years as a painter and retired from the State of Minnesota. He also loved cycling, riding thousands of miles each year, even into his eighties. Dennis enjoyed reading and studying the books he read, always curious and thoughtful about life.
He faced his health challenges, including emphysema and cancer, with resilience and dignity. Even in difficult moments, Dennis remained thoughtful, warm, and appreciative of the people around him.
Dennis is survived by son Greg (Chris) Castagneri; grandson Nick Castagneri; sisters Roz, Andrea, and Rhonda, along with extended family and close friends who will carry his memory forward.
A memorial service for Dennis Castagneri will be held Friday, January 30th. Details will be shared with family and friends.
Dennis meant the world to those who loved him — in the good times and the hard ones. His presence, his steadiness, and his heart will never be forgotten.
