Lynn Marie Tongen Obituary

On Sunday, January 11th, 2026, Lynn Marie Tongen, loving wife and mother, passed away gracefully in her sleep at age 80 with her sons Christopher and Nicholas at her side.

Lynn was born on October 23, 1945, in Cleveland, OH to James and Natalie Smillie. She dedicated her life to taking care of those around her - always generous and kind along the way. She was a talented artist and enjoyed a variety of mediums - her quilts are particularly cherished and something she was deservedly proud of. She loved pistachios! Forever young at heart, she got her first tattoo for her 80th birthday to celebrate her greatest joys - Motherhood and being Busha to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family lake place in Minaki was always a special place that she loved to spend time at with her beloved (Dick) and family - with the occasional chance to spend some time with her "loopy" sisters. She will be greatly missed by her large family and countless friends.

The family would like to thank The Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale and Allina Health Hospice Care for their exceptional, loving care.

A private family ceremony will be held this summer in Minaki.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial to The Pillars Hospice Home in Oakdale would be appreciated or just be extra kind to a stranger!

Fare Thee Well, My Honey, Fare Thee Well.
