Ursula Weil Barthel (Engelbretson), age 79, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026 .  Ursula was born September 4,1946 in Marburg, Germany, immigrated to St Paul, MN 1968 and became a US Citizen 1975.  She raised her 4 children in Coon Rapids, MN later moving to Maple Grove, MN residing with her husband for 27 years until moving to a nursing home in Winsted, MN October, 2023.

Ursula had a passion for styling hair of which she did for over 40 years until finally retiring at age 70.  She loved gardening, cooking, baking, traveling and most of all being with family and friends. She is preceded in death by her sons, Michael and Robert Engelbretson, her husband Donald Barthel, all her siblings and parents in her home country.  She is survived by her daughters, Nanette Schneider (Diane), Renee Vivier (Jose), 5 grandchildren-Nick, Chelsea, Natalie (Tanner), Logan (Faith), Jake and 4, very soon to be 5, great grandchildren, Jace, Max, Sam, Elliot & ‘baby’.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 at the Maple Grove Community Center in the Senior Center Rooms 110 & 112 from 10:30am-1:30pm (luncheon within at Noon).  12951 Weaver Lake Rd, Maple Grove, MN  55369.  A private interment to be scheduled.
