CELEBRATING THE LIFE & LEGACY

Jessica Marie Potter-Clemons was born on September 27, 1975, to Charles and Paula Potter. She was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, an amazing sister, and a guiding light to all who knew her. Jessica spent her early childhood in Park Rapids, Minnesota, before moving to the Bloomington area at the age of eight. She later graduated from John F. Kennedy High School. As an adult, she made Minneapolis her home, where she built lifelong connections and cherished memories within the community she deeply loved and always considered home. Jessica's warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family and community will be remembered and treasured by all whose lives she touched.

Over the years, Jessica shared her life with Russell Reed Sr., with whom she welcomed her son, Russell Kazell Reed Jr. Several years later, she met Dwayne Ross, and together they welcomed her daughter, Jerrica Marie Ross.

Throughout her life, Jessica held many roles, but the one that truly captured her heart was her work as a Direct Support Professional. Caring for others was not just her occupation—it was her calling. She dedicated herself to supporting those in need with compassion, patience, and unwavering kindness, finding deep fulfillment in making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. Above all, Jessica's love for her family was endless. Her warmth, strength, and selfless spirit will be forever cherished and deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

Jessica had a vibrant personality and a love for life that showed in everything she did. She could often be found with a good book in hand, a true crime show playing in the background, or a puzzle nearby that she was determined to finish, no matter how long it took. She loved sightseeing and adventure, always ready to take a risk—whether it meant trying something new or testing her luck at the casino—usually with a smile and a story to tell afterward. Jessica lived boldly and fearlessly, embracing life's thrills with curiosity and excitement. Yet, above all else, her greatest joy came from loving and caring for the people around her. Her adventurous heart, quick wit, and nurturing spirit brought warmth and laughter to everyone she touched, leaving behind memories that will continue to bring smiles through tears.

Jessica passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, in her home, at the age of 50. She is lovingly survived by her children, Russell Reed Jr. and Jerrica Ross; her sisters, Sara Potter and Shannon Reinhardt; and her brother, Aaron Summers. She is also survived by her nephews, Devin Potter and Derrick Potter-Jackson; her nieces, NaTallia Reinhardt, McKenzie Reinhardt, and Shyla Potter; and her cherished grandchildren, Ja’vion Reed, Aubrie Reed, Ny’Mari Todd, and Kamara Crandle.

Jessica leaves behind her beloved godchildren Jaida Hill, Kevin Hill, Jaiden Hill, Antonio Light, NauVion Bradley, Mau-Nayah Smith, and Shaliesch Smith, along with a host of extended family members, chosen family, and friends who will forever cherish the memories they shared with her.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Potter and Paula Potter-Collins; her son's father, Russell Reed Sr.; her godson, Sabrae McAlester; and multiple bonus children whom she helped raise and loved as her own.
