Douglas Stewart, age 89, passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, curiosity, and adventure.
Born in Minneapolis and a proud graduate of Roosevelt High School, Doug earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He devoted more than 40 years to his engineering career, known for his precision, integrity, and steady problem‑solving.
Doug was a true world traveler, exploring more than 70 countries alongside his wife of 68 years, Susan. Together, they embraced new cultures, landscapes, and experiences, collecting memories that became cherished stories. Doug also found joy in stamp collecting — each stamp a quiet reminder of the places they’d been and the journeys they shared.
Doug is survived by his wife, Susan Stewart; their three children, Laura Link (David), Robert Stewart (Mark), and Sandie Chrobak; four grandchildren and their spouses; and two great‑grandchildren. His family was his greatest pride, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to People Reaching Out to People (PROP), an organization that reflects Doug’s lifelong spirit of generosity and community.
