William Louis Sandifer (Willie, Bo, SandPiper) passed away on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the age of 78 in Eagan, Minnesota. William was born on February 11, 1947, in Prescott, Arkansas, the beloved son of Carter Van Sandifer & Bessie Lee (Hill) Sandifer. He was a proud veteran, having served in the US Army during the Vietnam War for 18 months, receiving an honorable discharge.
William dedicated 41 years of his life to 3M, where he worked as a chemist. Not only was he accomplished in his career, but he also opened his heart and home as a foster parent for over 20 years, impacting numerous lives. William and his brothers owned a catering business and Restaurant called Sandifer Brothers BBQ "3 Gents From Arkansas". Where they served BBQ plates and Southern cuisine from the heart and soul for over 25 years. They won best ribs at Rib Buddies in 1993, Best Ribs at RibFest in 1997 and Opened their first Restaurant in 1995.
On September 30, 1972, William exchanged vows in marriage to Dorothy J Sandifer in Minneapolis whom he is married to for 53 years. From that union they had two daughters Chaz Sandifer-Thomas and Danielle Sandifer and from a previous relationship he had a daughter Denise White. (Adopted) children Azaria Sandifer, Malcolm Sandifer, and deceased Jasmin Taylor Sandifer. (Foster) Terrell X-avion, Charles Clutter(Sarah), Theresa Hart, Aaron Clutter, Paul Reeves, Tynell Reeves, Javonte Reeves, and Michael Dorsey. His memory will also be carried on by his 20 grandchildren and his nieces, nephews and other family members.
William leaves behind a legacy of love and service survived by his siblings Bernard Sandifer(Jeanne), Wallace Sandifer, and Lillie Faye Gray(John). He is preceded in death by his siblings Stanley Ray Sandifer(Living Mary Lue), Ramona Mae King(Living Titus), Mable Jean Flemons(William), Myrtle Ruth Woodley(Jesse), Effie C. Gillard(Ed), Kizzie Mae Walters(Johnny), Delores Marie Wilbon(Living Ed), LaVita Ruth Branch(Living Darrell), and Carter Jr. Sandifer.
William Louis Sandifer will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his country, and community. May his legacy live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
