Elizabeth Patil Verma, a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and follower of Christ, was called home to the Lord on December 18th, 2025, at the age of 88.

Elizabeth was born November 12th, 1937 in Gagad-Betageri, Karnataka, India, the daughter of Dr. Salathiel and Sunitha Eden. She was one of 13 children. She was very close to her siblings and was often laughing and talking with one of them.

Elizabeth moved to Hopkins, Minnesota in 1973. She worked as a Nursing Assistant at Chapel View in Hopkins for 27 years, where she used her warmth and compassion to provide care to many people.

She was generous beyond words, giving of her time, her food and her love. She could often be found crocheting a blanket, hat or sweater for one of her great grandchildren. Her favorite activity was to cook and to feed people. She was always eager to host people in her home and share a meal together. As an amazing cook, she used food to bring people together and show them love.

Elizabeth loved her family. She spent most evenings and nights making multiple phone calls to her sisters and family in India over the years. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a deep love for infants and children.

More than anything, Elizabeth deeply loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was committed to walking daily with Jesus and spending time in his word. Even in her last days, when words were difficult, she was able to speak The Lord’s Prayer and recite Psalm 23.

In 1973, Elizabeth brought 4 children across the world to join her husband in Minnesota. She leaves behind a legacy of Children: Sunil, Raj (Tracy), Pradeep and Vinita (Leo), Grandchildren: Adam, Alyssa (Koby), Brittany (Kevin), Carissa, Hannah, Jessica (John), Joe, Joshua (Karina), Nathan, Rachel (Nathaniel), Simon, Welsey, Zach (Ali) and Greatgrandchildren: Audrey, Eli, Eloise, Henry, Jack, Kate, Madison, Maya, Paxton, Priya, Sienna, Sophia, Suzette and Theodore.

Elizabeth’s Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, January 11th at 1:00 at St. Steven’s Lutheran Church I 8400 France Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55431.
