Warren Dale Sarvela Obituary
Age 88, of Mpls., passed away peacefully December 31, 2025. Preceded in death by parents Jacob and Amelia and 18 brothers and sisters.
Known as “Sonny” he grew up in Kettle River, Minnesota and graduated from Barnum High School. He served three days short of three years in the United States Marine Corps. Some of that time jumping out of planes as a paratrooper. After the service he worked for General Mills where he was schooled in computer programming. Shortly after getting married on June 19, 1965, he started working for St.Paul Companies as a computer programmer. He retired from there in his early fifties. This allowed him more time to enjoy reading, cooking, gardening, bowling and travel. In 2000 he traveled to Finland with his brother Billy and sister Christine. Throughout his life he enjoyed spending time with many in his large family.
Survived by his wife of 60 years Estella, his son Dale (Diane) and their very large family, daughters Kelly and Amy, granddaughters Amelia, Eva, and Annika, brother Billy (Marilyn), sister Nettie and many more relatives.
A Memorial Service will be held on May 2, 2026 at Cremation Society of Brooklyn Park Chapel, located 7835 Brooklyn Blvd. Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Visitation to begin at 1:00 PM, followed by a service at 2:00 PM
A Committal will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, 7601 34th Ave S, Bloomington, MN 55450, on May 4th 2026, at 9:00 AM
