Diane Clare (Suess) Schroder, 77, of Burnsville, Minnesota, peacefully passed away under hospice care on December 5, 2025. A devoted mother, her warmth, humor, and thoughtfulness touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on August 29, 1948 in Fargo, North Dakota, Diane was the daughter of Bud and Jenny Suess. She grew up in Faribault, Minnesota in a close-knit family. After she graduated from Faribault Senior High School in 1966, she went on to study business. Diane owned her own nutrition business in Faribault and subsequently had a successful career in real estate for over 25 years serving throughout the Twin Cities metro area.
Professionally, she found great joy in helping others and fostered many lifelong personal connections. Diane was passionate about supporting people during their journeys in life whether it was related to personal health or finding a forever home.
Diane was a nurturing mother, dedicated daughter and sister, and caring partner. She enjoyed flowers, attending church, reading, dogs, tennis, and she loved to laugh. She had this wonderful little giggle that was woven into her conversations. Diane was an involved grandmother who delighted in taking her grandchildren to the Minnesota Zoo and the theater; she loved watching them participate in sports and activities.
Diane is survived by her brother, David Suess (Beth); children Brett Schroder (Aubrey) and Kambria Johnson (Ben); partner Phil Marudas; grandchildren Emma, Devon, Brice, Grace, Rainer and Shepard; along with extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Lucille Suess, and her sister, Marcia Marks.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12th at 2pm at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, Serley Chapel, 5025 Knox Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55419.
The family has asked that any donations in Diane’s honor be made to the Little Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.
