Gail Annette (Wilson) Bestel 81, passed away peacefully with her daughter Kim and her son-in-law Mark by her side on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was kind generous and most of all loyal to her family, always putting them first before herself.

Gail was born January 29, 1944, in St. Paul MN to William and Lois Wilson. She had one sibling her sister Diane. She married Gary Lee Bestel, on June 16, just two weeks after her high school graduation from Park High School. They started their family shortly after having one son Gary Glen and two daughters, Lorriann Marie and Kimberly Ann. Gary and Gail lived in Cottage Grove Mn throughout most of their marriage.

Gail enjoyed spending time reading books, baking, watching westerns, listening to older country music, swimming, traveling, going to Mankato to watch Vikings camp, many trips to Duluth and watching, listening to the Mn Twins and Mn Vikings play. Above all she loved spending time with her husband Gary, her kids, and her grandchildren.

Gail is preceded in death by her parents William & Lois Wilson, sister Diane (Wilson) Roberts, daughter Lorriann Marie, husband Gary Lee and son Gary Glen.

Survived by her daughter Kimberly (Bestel) Buetow (husband Mark Buetow) Daughter-in Law Lisa (Dettwiler) Bestel, grandchildren Derren & Randi Bestel, Brittany & Vanessa Lovro, Cody & Allyson Buetow, Kasey Schumann, Abigail Rasmussen and Sam Nelson. Great grandchildren Ethan, Silas, Grayson, Mason, Roman, Jack & Hunter, Lily & Isaac, Brooklynn, Winter & River and Murphy & Mackenzie. Brother-in-Law Tim Roberts, Sister-in-law Gwen (David) Fuchs, Brother-in-Law Bruce Bestel (Charlene)

Gail will be remembered for her loyalty to her family & friends, her kind and genuine heart and for always going above and beyond to make sure everyone was safe, happy & healthy. She will be greatly missed and forever hold a special place in our hearts.

Visitation will be held at Cottage Grove United Church of Christ, 7008 Lamar Ave S Cottage Grove, MN 55016, Saturday, January 17th, Visitation 10am-11am, Service 11a-12p and the luncheon will follow shortly at Broadway Bar & Grill, 244 Broadway Ave, St Paul Park, MN 55071.
