Phillip Ray Vine of Duluth, Minnesota passed away Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the age of 27. He was born on August 26, 1998, in Duluth, Minnesota. He died of a seizure at Hennepin County Medical Center.
Phillip graduated with honors from Wrenshall High School in 2017. During his high school years, he played football, basketball and was the Homecoming King. He went on to attain a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Iron Range Engineering in 2021. He passed the FE exam and attained the designation of Mechanical Engineer in Training.
Phillip felt deeply with a tenderness that touched those around him. He shared a special bond with his brother, a connection rooted in loyalty, laughter, and an understanding that needed few words. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing. His life was marked by challenges after alcohol entered his world. Phillip’s story is one of complexity and heart. In his final days he cast off blaming his problems on external influences. He reaffirmed his commitment to Christ, inspiring others as well.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Stephanie Moeller Vine, and stepsister, Katie Stolan.
He is survived by his father, Randy Vine; stepmother, Pam Vine; brother, Luke Vine; stepbrother, Eric (Heather) Stolan; stepsister, Emily (Mike) Wild; grandparents Fred and Mary Jeanne Vine; Dianne Moeller; and Tom (Doris) Moeller; aunts Kelly (Fernando) Pulido and Jennifer (Peter) Blisard; uncle, Patrick (Bob) Kubiak.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at First Memorial-Funeral Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at 11am. Visitation with the family will begin at 10am.
The family would like to thank the counselors, nursing staff, and clients of Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge for the fellowship, care, and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days, even unto his final moments.
